I have a philosophy that you are only as good as your tools If you have been to local fishing tackle store you know that Rods and Reels can get expensive. Taking care of your fishing equipment is an absolute necessary and the last thing you need when you get the big one on the line is equipment failure. Below are few tips for rod and reel care. If you know of a tip or trick shoot us an email.
Reel Tips
Reel Cleaning Tips - Nothing can ruin a good rod and reel faster then saltwater. To help prevent corrosion and protect your investment you should wash your rods and reels after every use. It's a very simple process, simply line up your rods and reels and give them a quick rinse with a soft spray from your water hose. After your reels are dry hit them quick spray of WD-40 or other lubricant spray and give them a quick wipe down. This will help give your rods and reels a long life. We also suggest getting your reels serviced by a professional annually.
Storage - If you are an avid fisherman and use your equipment on a regular basis we suggest that you get a rod storage rack. This will help prevent breaking rod tips and guides. If at all possible we also suggest storing your equipment inside a climate controlled area, it will keep your fishing line from breaking down, as well as assure the rust stays off your reel. Now, if you don't not fish on regular basis storing your reels inside is a must. Remember your rods and reels are an investment so you should do everything possible to protect them.
